Doing a story at the Department of Enterprise Service - Printing and Imaging, in Tumwater, WA 2023. After receiving tips and leads that this office had significant issues with being transparent and helping with public records requests, I went to the office to see if the tips and leads were accurate. Within seconds the situation started to escalate quickly. I was confronted with a deep desire to avoid transparency, with a mixture of angry, hostile, deceptive employees that told the police things that never happened. I believe at one point, there was an attempt to try and set the foundation for a burglary charge. To create this many road blocks for records requests is very suspect, and this story raises serious questions about the behavior of WA State employees at the Department of Enterprise Services as well as one Tumwater police officer.
